Deductions icon

Social Security deductions

If you're enrolled in an individual plan, you can make payments using automatic Social Security deductions. To start or stop a deduction, please contact Customer Care at 1-855-562-8853 (TTY/TDD: 711) and we will place the request.

Note: The Social Security Administration or Railroad Retirement Board will need to accept your request for automatic deductions. It can take 1 to 2 months for payments to begin, depending on when you submit your request. Check your monthly Social Security statement to ensure the payments are being deducted.

Automatic bank withdrawals

Send us your completed pre-authorization form (download link below) and we can automatically withdraw your monthly premium payment for you on the 3rd business day of every month. If the 3rd falls on a weekend or a holiday, the withdrawal will occur on the next business day.

Online

Creating an online payment portal account is simple. With a payment portal account, you can:

  • Make your payment by ACH payment (e-check), credit card or debit card
  • Set up automatic recurring payments
  • View your online payment history

Send your check payment and payment coupon to the address listed above. Be sure to:

  • Include your payment coupon for the right coverage month
  • Make your check payable to “Sharp Health Plan”
  • Write your member ID number on the check
  • Use separate checks if you’re paying for more than one account

You’ll get a payment book in the mail after you enroll in Sharp Direct Advantage, if your plan has a monthly premium or if you have late enrollment penalties from Medicare. If you get a payment book and prefer to use a different payment option, such as online or by phone, you do not need to use your payment book.

Helpful things to know about payments

Every month

  • Our bill cycles run on the 10th of every month. If you make a payment after the 10th, the payment will be reflected in next month’s bill history and statement.
  • We accept Visa®, MasterCard®, debit cards issued by Visa or MasterCard, checks, money orders, cash, bank wire and ACH payments (e-check).

December

  • If you have set up automated payments through our online payment portal, please update your payments with your new premium amount at the end of each year before Dec. 31. This will ensure accurate and timely premium payments.
  • If you signed up for automatic bank withdrawals, we will update any changes to your premium amount.

If you’re canceling your coverage and you made payments using:

  • Online payments

    Please cancel any automated payments if you terminate your coverage. Your automated payments will continue unless you cancel them.

  • Automatic bank withdrawals

    If you terminate your coverage and were signed up for automatic bank withdrawals, we will cancel the withdrawal.
