Sharp Medicare Advantage members are part of the Sharp Direct Advantage network. This network gives you access to over 1,700 physicians, including primary care physicians and specialists, providing you the flexibility you need wherever you're located.
Your plan medical group (PMG) includes a select group of doctors and hospitals associated with the Sharp Direct Advantage network. Keep in mind that you only have access to one PMG at a time. Referrals and prior authorizations do not transfer between PMGs.

We partner with OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions of California (Optum Behavioral Health) to offer a broad range of behavioral health benefits to San Diegans, including inpatient hospital services, partial hospital services and outpatient services ordered and performed by participating behavioral health professionals.
Members have direct access to plan providers for behavioral health services without obtaining a referral from their primary care provider. However, covered behavioral health benefits must be obtained through plan providers.
